We recently moved from our original store in Bexley to the vibrant Short North Arts District. Stop in to 607 N. High St. in the Yukon Building and see our new location! Our story is as unique as any stone. It all started with a single poker game that took place in Bolivia. After winning an emerald mine in a game of cards, Dennis?s cousin gave him a bag of beautiful emeralds and said, ?See what you can do!? From there, the inspiration behind Star Jewelers was born. Dennis later enrolled in the Gemological Institute of America in New York City, where he earned his Graduate Gemologist degree. He had envisioned a life as the ?Indiana Jones of gemstones?, but instead returned to his hometown of Columbus, Ohio and girlfriend, Elaine. He accepted a job at Lazarus, running the fine jewelry counter. Elaine and Dennis were married in 1986, and two children followed soon after. They decided that between Elaine?s 17 years of experience merchandising for The Limited and Dennis?s gemological knowledge, together they would make the perfect team to open and run a jewelry store in Bexley.
