Brittany?s Fine Jewelry has a history for crafting elegant and beautiful jewelry. Brittany?s founder, Donnie Blanton, started his jewelry career in a local catalog showroom called Imperial House in 1976. After five years as a bench jeweler and a wealth of experience gained in other departments of the store, Donnie decided to venture out on his own. In September 1981, he started Jewelry Repair Center of Gainesville, Inc. as a trade shop supplying repair services to jewelry retailers in Gainesville and the surrounding area. Donnie?s trade shop extended restoration services to many of the larger retail jewelry chains located in the area. Close interaction with these vendors afforded Donnie the ability to inspect samples of the merchandise that they were selling. Donnie soon realized that the quality of jewelry being sold by these widely-established retailers was dropping considerably. This distressing change in the market convinced Donnie that the time was right to pursue his dream of opening his own jewelry store. On November 14, 1985, Donnie?s dream became a reality when he opened Brittany?s Fine Jewelry in Gainesville, Florida.
